Cherry Blossoms 🌸 Season

Cherry Blossoms is one of the thing I look forward to see during Spring, that and Tulips and the many vibrant beautiful flowers during Spring time. Spring is about cooler weather and flowers in bloom.

There a lot of places in Vancouver and nearby cities where we get to enjoy the sightings of the Cherry Blossoms. At this time of the year, you will see post with maps showing places where you can have a good view of them. It’s a bloom party all over Vancouver and other cities.

There are also festivals celebrating the Cherry Blossom. There’s one called Days of Sakura which is scheduled to happen this coming April 15-16, 2023 in Van Dusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver.

There’s also a competition to predict the peak of the Cherry Blossom bloom. Last year it was April 2, this year they predicted it to be April 5 which was few days ago. I’ve actually marked this date in my calendar as I do not want to miss that peak.

Unfortunately, the weather has not been cooperating these past few days. It’s been raining a lot and nights are colder then the usual Spring time. I did not get the chance to go out to check the bloom last April 5, but from what I can see from my area with few Cherry Blossoms tree, it seems the prediction of April 5 as a peak is not going to be correct.

Today I decided to go to Garry Point Park, my favorite place to see Cherry Blossoms. The morning was rainy and gloomy but after lunch the sun came out, so I have to come out too!!

Let me share with you what I saw in the park.

As expected, the Cherry Blossoms are not yet in full bloom. I’ve seen this place in better days of Cherry Blossoms when it was on its peak. It was still beautiful especially with gorgeous sunny day. There are still a lot of flower buds waiting to open up. I guess this is the best the I could see for now as there are more rain in the forecast in the cook h days.

It was a great day for a walk. I am thankful for that. I am thankful for everything, everyday.

That’s it for today! Until next time.
