Easy Jalapeño & Cheese Yogurt Bagel for One (No Yeast, No Fuss)

This quick jalapeño and cheese yogurt bagel is perfect when you want something warm, cheesy, and homemade without making a whole batch. It’s soft on the inside, lightly crisp on the outside, and has just the right kick from the jalapeños. Made with simple ingredients and no yeast, it comes together fast — ideal for a cozy breakfast, a quick lunch, or a snack that feels a little extra. One bowl, one bagel, zero fuss.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup Self-Rising Flour
  • 1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon table Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 70 grams grated Cheddar Cheese se aside 2 tablespoon for toppings
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper – sliced and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder optional for extra lift

Method
 

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350F.
  2. In a bowl, transfer the self-rising flour, plain greek yogurt, cheese, jalapeño pepper, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Using a sturdy spoon, mix until it starts to come together then use your hands to further gather the mixture to form into a dough. Transfer in a floured surface.
  3. Shape the Bagel: There are 2 ways that you can do this:Shape and Punch:
    1.) Shape the portion into a ball, then press to flatten into a 4-inch dish. Press your thumb in the center to create a hole, the use your fingers to stretch the hole.
    2. Shape into a Rope: Shape the portion into a rope about 9-inch long. Press the end, the fold the other press and press/seal in the flat end. You should end up with a circle, like donut. Slightly press to flatten to about 4-inch size.
  4. Add Toppings: Sprinkle remaining cheese and 3 slices jalapeno on top.
  5. Bake in a lower rack for 27 minutes, rotating the baking sheet midway through baking. Remove from the oven.
  6. Let cool completely before serving. Cooling will enhance the texture of the bread, so this is a MUST.
