  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon table Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 100 grams grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 12 Pickled Jalapeno Pepper slices
  • 1 tablespoon Cream Cheese Divided into 6 portions

  • Everything But the Bagel Seasoning - optional
Ingredient Substitution Using Self Rising Flour
  • 3/4 cup Self Rising Flour
  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder Optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon table Salt

Equipment

  • Oven

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350F.
  2. In a bowl, transfer the all-purpose flour, plain greek yogurt, baking powder & salt. Using a sturdy spoon, mix until it starts to come together then use your hands to further gather the mixture to form into a dough. Transfer in a floured surface.
  3. Divide the Dough: Divide the dough into 6 equal portions or as close sizes as possible.
  4. Stuffed: Flatten the dough and stuff with cream cheese & 1 sliced jalapeno peppers. Roll into a ball, pinch the sides to seal the dough.
  5. Top with Cheese: Brush the top with eggwash. Roll in the grated cheese or sprinkle cheese on top. Put 1 sliced jalapeno on top and sprinkle with Everything but the Bagel seasoning ( if using).
  6. Bake in the middle rack for 30 minutes, rotating the baking sheet midway through baking ( at 15 minutes time). Remove from the oven.
  7. Let cool slighlty before serving. Cooling will enhance the texture of the bread, so this is a MUST.
