Welcome to Ocean Suites Hotel ♥♥
Although our main destination is Panglao Island, we decided to spare 1 day to do some sight-seeing to see what Bohol has to offer. I’ve heard some of the most popular attractions like the Chocolate Hills, and the tiny big eyed creature called “Tarsier” and I thought since were already there, why not stop by and check some of the places. The only challenge is that most of the main attractions are located away from Panglao Island and going back and fort in the hotel and the attractions will used up most of our limited time. Our solution was to find a hotel where we can stay overnight just for the day we are doing the sight seeing and Ocean Suites Bohol is what we found and that is what I want to share with you today.
It took is aboutb10 – 15 minutes to get to Ocean Suites Bohol from the airport. The resort shuttle was already waiting for us at the airport and so the transportation was very convenient and fast. The check-in went smoothly, although check-in was not until 2pm, we were given the family room as soon as we get there so we had a place to leave our luggage while we wait for the other room to be available.
The hotel itself was quite small, but don’t be turn-off by the size because although it was small, it was very modern and cozy. It was actually a little bit deceiving when I saw the façade, it was just a plain-looking building but when I stepped inside I was greeted by an amazing view! The style of the hotel was very modern and elegant, and it has a very homey feel to it. The building uses a lot of glass and mirrors so almost everywhere you go, the view outside was visible. The location was also very quiet, and best of all the price was reasonable for an overnight stay for a family of 6. They have 2 swimming pool, they also have small reading area and place to play ping-pong but that’s about it. It was a decent small place to stay for short trip, just the perfect place to spend a day or two while doing the sightseeing. For longer stay, I would recommend you find a bigger resort with more amenities like Hennan Beach Resort where we stayed most of our remaining days in Bohol. Let me take you around, let’s get started!
The rooms were designed in such a way that it maximizes the view of the surrounding. We got 1 family room and one regular room. The family room was huge and clean, with a sliding door that leads us straight to the pool area overlooking the water.
The Infinity Pool
Although the pool was not as big as the other resort, the view was breathtakingly beautiful. There were 2 infinity pool both overlooking the water, and around it were lounge chairs and sitting area. The restaurant and bar were also located close to the pool.
The Food, The Restaurant
The food was fantastic! I didn’t expect so much from the food because the restaurant looks nothing but usual, but as the saying goes “looks could be deceiving”. The menu items were a mix of standard Filipino dishes and International Cuisine. The selections were good for a small restaurant like that, and I was surprise how reasonable the pricing consider it is a resort restaurant. We ordered quite a lot for sharing and we finished them all! We had Chopsuey (mixed vegetables), Grilled Mixed Seafoods, Calamari (Deep Fried Battered Squid), Sinigang na Hipon (Shrimp Sour Soup) and Bagnet (Deep Fried Pork). I have to point out something, most of the main courses comes with a rice already, unless you plan to eat double, don’t do the same mistake as we did. We ordered 2 plates of rice for sharing which serves 6, and on top of that all our orders came with rice as well. So we ended up with overflowing rice, more like unlimited! Here’s what we ordered.
For small hotel like this, I find the staff very polite, welcoming and helpful. They were very quick to respond whenever we call for something.
Although small in size, I found this hotel a great place to stay if you are planning to do sightseeing in the area. It’s clean with a modern design and fantastic view. A good place to go back and rest after a long day of walking and seeing places. The food was great in terms if selection and pricing, the staff were polite, and the price was reasonable. What more can you ask for? So when in Bohol and looking for a place for short stay, check-out Ocean Suites Bohol, your home away from home.
