It is the season of sharing and celebrating, no holding back on delicious food and desserts to share. Desserts always finds its way to our table, whether we like it or not, In my case, I LOVE it! Some cakes are great without any frosting, the likes of chiffon cake or naked cakes. But some cakes are better with frosting, think chocolate cake. Chocolate cake for me needs frosting, a generous amount of frosting, chocolate if I may suggest. This is what this post is all about.

In preparation for the Brigadeiro Chocolate Cake that I will be sharing, I would like to share first how I made this decadent, sinfully delicious chocolate sauce. You know it is that good if it merits a post on its own. Yes, trust me, it is that good. I mean look at this deep dish cake? How can you not say No to this? Wait till you dig into it! Recipe of this Brigadeiro Cake coming soon so stay tuned for that.

What is Brigadeiro?
Brigadeiro is a Brazilian chocolate dessert made with condensed milk and cocoa powder. They are small bite size ball, some call it bon bons, and some call it truffles. It is decadent, rich, creamy … truly sinfully delicious.

This chocolate sauce was inspired by the idea of Brigadeiro, hence it uses condensed milk and cocoa powder. Instead of shaping it into a balls, it was made into a thick decadent sauce. You can pour it on cakes (highly recommended), pancakes, waffles, french toast, ice cream and sundae or use it as a chocolate dipping sauce for churros. There are so many ways to use it, all of them guaranteed to make whatever you pour it on taste amazing.

This is a very easy chocolate sauce to make. I find it even easier than chocolate ganache. Let me warn you though, this is definitely not for someone who is watching calories or sugar intake. This is pure decadent indulgence with no limits. I make this for special occasion and it never failed to wow people. The warm chocolate sauce on top of the cake is a straight 5 stars rating.
Stay tuned for the Brigadeiro Cake recipe that I will be sharing soon. This is the frosting that I used for that cake, you are going to love it. For now, let me show you how easy it is to make this decadent chocolate sauce.

Ingredients:
- 400 gr Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 ounces)
- 40 grams Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon)
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 30 gr Dark Chocolate (1 ounce )
Instructions:
Pour the condensed milk in a pan. Add the unsweetened cocoa powder. Heat in medium heat until the cocoa powder is completely dissolved. Add the butter and dark chocolate and continue simmering until the chocolate is fully melted. Remove from the pan.
TIP: The sauce will thicken and harden as it cools. For better handling, it is recommend to make this just before using it. Pour on top of the cake while warm. This spread nicely and will give a smooth finish on top when used immediately.
