Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, Vandusen Garden always have something beautiful to offer. I first visited Vandusen Christmas Lights display Dec 2010 with a very close friend of mine. She was assigned in Vancouver for 3 months and this was the first activity that we did.
I cannot believe that was 6 years ago already. I can still remember how cold it was that day, we were shivering and our hands were shaking as we took turns taking photo of each other. I had so much fun that day and I can still remember it until now.
The only regret I have is that we were not able to capture the beauty of the place. The photos we took did not give any justice to the beautiful lights display. Most of the photos are blurry and dark, we cannot even see ourselves in the photo.
I decided to come back again this year hoping to capture a better photo that I can share with you. The day I visited the garden was really a cold day, but it was perfect in my opinion. Perfect because it snowed really hard few days before and there’s quite a lot of snow on the ground.
Oh how I love the snow! It made a lot of difference in the experience. The place was magical with all the different colors of dancing lights and lively christmas carols. It was like a scene in a movie, so beautiful.
My favorite part is when they have the dancing lights display while the christmas carol is playing. The lights dance and change colors along with the rhythm of the music. Each change in color gives a different look and effect. I stood there in the cold , mesmericazed with the beauty of the lights display which lasted for around 10 – 15 minutes. It was worth it!
If it was not because of my frozen feet, I would have stayed there a little bit longer. It was a fun visit, and it was really worth it. So, if you happen to be in Vancouver during the Christmas holiday, have this place in your itinerary. You will not regret it.
