I cannot make up my mind which of these cookies I want to make first for the holidays. As you can see, there’s quite a lot of choices and they all look absolutely delicious. Picking which one to make is really a tough decision for me, but I guess I have to do it. I always like the idea of adding a personal touch to gifts that I give, and what better way to do it than to bake it from scratch and wrap it with love. That sounds kind of poetic, but don’t you like the idea of a personalize gift? I do, in fact I love them. Edible gifts like cookies, cakes or bars are something that I really like receiving especially if they are homemade.
You can of course shortcut the method and buy a box of cookies in the store and nicely wrap it, but as a receiving person a the end, I always appreciate it more when I receive something that was personally made than bought. I know that not everyone has time to bake a cookie, this is why I’ve chosen my favorite easy to make cookies that are wonderful for gift giving.
I’m pretty sure you will find at least one or two that you can make at home. Homemade cookies have a very personal touch on it and a true labor of love. If you are on a tight budget, homemade cookies are the way to go. You will be surprise how a small budget could actually produce so much cookies. Besides, who doesn’t love cookies? Remember, gifts doesn’t have to be expensive. So let me share with you my top 21 cookies that are wonderful for gift giving. It’s never too early to plan what to make for the holidays. Shortbread cookie is one of the classic cookie of all time. It only requires 5 ingredients and few simple steps to follow. Although simple, the simplicity should not be taken for granted because it taste really good. The cookie is buttery, it’s smooth and it’s creamy. It’s perfect to have it on it’s own, or even better when dipped in melted chocolate. So good!
Chocolate Fudge Cookie
This is the first cookie I launched in my blog because I don’t want to settle for anything less that the best. This is more like a fudgy cookie, with soft center and slightly cracked top. It looks like a brownie cookie rolled into one. A 2 in 1 cookie treat, so no need to choose. You can have both, don’t forget to share.
Hello purple! A very vibrant beautiful cookie made from cooked and grated purple yam. This is a unique version of the usual Chocolate Crinkles, almost the same procedure but replacing chocolate with purple yam to flavor the cookie. This has an even softer and smoother texture than the original chocolate version, it has a milky and creamy taste and a very subtle purple yam flavor.
Coffee and Biscotti, how that does sound to you? Biscotti is something very simple and has always been a great companion for a cup of coffee or tea. But what makes a great Biscotti? For me, it has to be crunchy and light at the same time, it should be “airy” and not dense and heavy. That’s what this Biscotti is all about.

If you are making a Shortbread Cookie, I suggest make a big batch and make this one too. The process is exactly the same, but this one was cut using a cookie cutter and sandwich in between chocolate ganache. You can use whatever shape you like to cut the cookie.
This is our simple native version of French Macaroons in the Philippines. It has grated coconut and milk.
