[VIDEO] Deville Coffee @Downtown Vancouver

It’s been a white weekend so far but the air quality condition is quite bad due to the wildfire that has been going on in Kelowna, BC.

We had quite a hot week last week with some areas having 30-32C temperature, in Vancouver that’s already hot.

Today was quite refreshing because it was a lot cooler. It was 11C when I left the house in the morning and 18C later in the afternoon, that’s rather cool for Summer.

Todays featured Cafe is Deville Coffee. I saw this when I was walking around in Gastown when I went to Monaco Cafe. This is very accessible, located across the Waterfront Station.

The cafe specializes in coffee. They do not have variety of pastry to choose from but if you are a coffee lover, the choices would be more than enough.

I am not a coffee drinker and I do love good quality pastry which is often my criteria for looking a cafe to hang out and spend relax time.

Deville Coffee cafe is an exception. I really love the interior of this cafe which is a huge factor for me as I spend about 2 hrs inside. I like quite and not too crowded cafe with modern and bright interior. This is that kind of cafe.

In fact, the place was quite big for just coffee and small selection of pastry. They have so much space and we’re able to offer different kind of sitting options. They have regular tables, sofa lounge and high chairs for the side tables.

The sitting is very comfortable, I did not even want to leave this place.

The Menu

Coffee & Tea Pairing

With the very few selection of pastry, I decided to get Green Onion and Cheese Scones for the savory and Almond Croissant for the sweet pastry.

The Green Onion was just ok, I feel it was lacking in flavor.

The Almond Croissant was the same, nothing exceptional about it but it was ok. Having it re-heated made a huge difference, I am glad I asked.

Both pastry were kind of cold, almost like it came from a refrigerator and not freshly baked. I had to ask the staff to reheat it for me, and that helps a lot.

For the drinks, I got the Caramel Latte hoping it will be less strong and more on the caramel side. Because I am not a coffee drinker, I find it a bit strong for my taste with no caramel flavor at all.

One hack that I had been doing when I ordered Hot Latte is to ask for ice cubes in courtesy cap. I like my drinks hot, but once it gets cold I feel coffee tends to be too strong for me. What I usually do is pour the already cold coffee to the cap with ice cubes, add more milk and sweetener. By juts doing that, I ended up with Iced Latte 🙂 no waste.
