[VIDEO] Peanut Butter Latte

Peanut Butter lovers brace yourself because today we are making a delicious cup of warm Peanut Butter Latte that will surely make you fall in love with peanut butter even more. It’s a warm hug in a cup.

A touch of peanut butter in the coffee, why not? I was thinking of ways to flavor a latte and this occurred to me. I have a friend who is head over heels into peanut butter, you name it and he will devour it. So I used that as an inspiration for this hot drink flavoring. A touch (or more) of nut butter, warm milk and a dash of espresso or coffee powder.

If I have access to brewed coffee I would probably go that way instead of instant coffee powder but unfortunately I don’t.

I am not much into strong coffee drinks as I have very low tolerance to the caffeine. Whenever I feel like having a coffee, I would go for iced coffee with lots of milk and whipped cream. In general, I take my coffee more milk than coffee, might as well call it milk flavored drink than coffee 🙂

This is why this drink works for me because it doesn’t have strong coffee flavor, I don’t add a lot but you can use as much coffee as you like.

For the nut butter, this will work with peanut butter or almond butter. I’ve tried both and peanut butter have a more pronounced taste than almond butter. Almond butter gives a nice creamy taste which was also good.

I don’t like to add too much sweetness in my drink so small amount of sweetener was added. You can use whatever sweetener that you like.

Milk foam on top is nice so if you have a milk frother, use it. It does add a nice look to the drink and the extra creaminess doesn’t hurt. I personally like the forth top, makes the drink beautiful and more inviting. For a small serving like this, you will only need 1/4 cup half and half. Use a milk frother until it becomes lightly thick, frothy, I would say but not as think as whipped cream. It you want a thicker foam, use whipped cream and indulge 🙂

As always, you can make big batch of this. I always make 1-2 servings only and hence a small amount of ingredients that you will see below. Use the idea and just increase the ingredients. This is not baking that you have to be precise. Go and enjoy your latte with as much or less butter as you like.
