You don’t have to, but have that in you back pocket if you want to make it even more indulgent. Let’s explore what makes this cozy, chocolatey drink so special!
Why Dark Chocolate is the Star
Milk chocolate is great, but dark chocolate steals the show in this latte. It adds depth, richness, and a slight bitterness that balances out the sweetness of the condensed milk. The result? A beautifully smooth drink with layers of flavor that never feel overpowering. In the end, it’s your choice. Choose what suits your preference.

Condensed Milk: The Perfect Sweetener
Instead of using sugar, this latte relies on condensed milk for sweetness. Not only does it add a hint of caramelized richness, but it also blends effortlessly into the drink, ensuring every sip is perfectly smooth and luscious.

Choosing Your Milk
The beauty of this latte is its flexibility—you can use any milk you prefer. Whether it’s classic dairy, creamy oat milk, or nutty almond milk, the choice is yours. The milk serves as the silky foundation that ties everything together.

Cream Foam & Cocoa Powder for the Final Touch
A good latte deserves a luxurious topping, and here, a soft, airy cream foam does the trick. The final touch? A light dusting of cocoa powder that enhances the chocolatey aroma and adds a little extra depth to each sip.

Extra Indulgence Add-Ons: Ice Cream, Marshmallow, Chopped Nuts
Want to turn this latte into a full-blown dessert? Add scoops of ice cream for an ultra-creamy experience, drizzle chocolate syrup for extra richness, and sprinkle chopped almonds for a satisfying crunch. It transforms an elegant latte into a gourmet treat.

How To Make Siple Sugar Syrup
Simple syrup is simply dissolved and lightly reduced sugar + water. The basic ratio is 1:1, meaning 1 part sugar to 1 part water (i.e 1 cup sugar: 1 cup water), it is basically an equal portion of sugar and water.
However, if you like it thick and sweeter, you can do a 1:2 ratio (i.e 1/2 cup water : 1 cup sugar). The yield will be less, but it is thicker and sweeter which use you use less of it.
You can make sugar syrup using granulated white sugar for a clear syrup OR light or dark brown sugar for a darker syrup. The darker syrup are great for coffee or dark tea based drinks as this will not affect the color of the drink that much.
The clear syrup are best for drinks that you want to retain the original color without making it brownish in color. The clear white syrup tends to be sweeter than the brown sugar, but brown sugar have that light caramel flavor from the molasses in the brown sugar. In the end, it all boils down to preference.
Serve it Just Right
A tall glass is the way to go for this latte—it lets you see the dreamy swirls of chocolate, foam, and toppings. Whether you sip it slowly or dive in with a spoon, every layer brings its own magic.

This Dark Chocolate Latte is the perfect mix of indulgence and comfort. Whether you enjoy it as a morning luxury, an afternoon pick-me-up, or a cozy late-night treat, it delivers deep chocolate flavor, creamy texture, and a touch of elegance in every sip.

For the Cream Foam:
- 2 tablesppon Milk

Instructions:
- Make the cream foam by whisking the milk and cream until lightly think. I used a milk frother to do this.
- Pour condensed milk in a serving glass, followed by the chocolate sauce. I used a frother to smudge the glass with the chocolate. You can use a spoon so drizzle chocolate on the side of the glass. Add ice cubes, pour 1/2 cup of milk, followed by espresso and cream foam.

The ingredients measurements can be adjusted to your preference. Dark Chocolate Sauce is recommended to balance the sweetness of condensed milk. You can add more espresso if you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, or add more milk etc.
