Get ready to embrace the season’s most refreshing fruit in creative and delicious ways!
It’s Summer time! Watermelon 🍉 time 🙂 This comes second to Mango as one of my favorite fruits during Summer. It’s refreshing especially during hot Summer days.
I’ve always enjoyed it on its own, sliced or sometimes scooped as mini balls. I simply cannot get enough of it. I don’t buy to many fruits but for watermelon, I don’t mind buying a whole big one.
Eating it sliced is probably the most common ways to enjoy it but there are also other ways if you want to be creative. I’ve tried some of those I’ve read online and I would like to share them with you.

Freshly Slice
Quick and easy way to enjoy watermelon is so simply slice and dig in. You don’t need any extra ingredients but eat it this way, unless maybe you want to try a sprinkling of salt on top. I know it might sound weird as my friend confirmed but I kinda like it. This was how I enjoy it back then when I was a kid growing up in Philippines. I may have outgrown it when I moved here in Canada but still do it from time to time.
Cutting Watermelon into Cubes
I know, I know! We all have our own way of cutting watermelon. I often do the simple triangle slice when I am just eating it on its own, but when I want to just it for salad, I like to have it cubbed. These herbs easy way (at least for me) to cut cubed watermelon is shown in this video. I’ve tried it couple of times and so far they worked great for me. Maybe it will work for you too, or maybe not 🙂

Light & Refreshing
Watermelon Feta Salad
Ah, did I get your attention now? How does this sounds to you? One reader commented that it is kinda weird and off combination to have a watermelon drizzled with balsamic vinegar. I have to admit I tried it out of curiosity. It wasn’t traditional for sure, maybe even weird but for some reason I like it. The salty feta crumble with the sweet juicy watermelon and tangy balsamic vinaigrette works to my taste. It may not be for all, but if you are feeling adventurous to try something … weird? Give it a try and let me know how it goes
Watermelon Basil Fruit Salad
Now this one is not that weird, in fact I love it! You get the refreshing watermelon, sweet Strawberry and Orange, salty crumbled feta and extra freshness from Basil & Mint. These herbs are powerful duo for bringing up freshness in this salad bowl. This salad I’ve made quite a lot of times during the watermelon season.
Only 1 Ingredient Drink
It cannot get any refreshing and pure as this 1 ingredient watermelon drink. This tops in my list when it comes to making drink from a watermelon. All you need is a blender! Blend away, add some ice cubes and enjoy! For a little twist, you want add fresh mint.
Sluchie All the Way
When having a watermelon drink is not enough to beat the beat, let’s go for Watermelon Slushie. Yes, your own homemade Slushie at home. You can make this 1 ingredient watermelon drink by juts freezing and blending the watermelon. To make a little bit of a twist, add some canned lychee for a nice Watermelon and Lychee Slushie.

There you go! Just few simple ideas to enjoy your watermelon. Which one is your favorite?
