A Little About Maan Farms

Nestled in the heart of Abbotsford, BC — right in the lush Fraser Valley — Maan Farms is a family-run destination that’s been welcoming visitors since 1977. What started as a humble roadside berry stand has blossomed into a full-fledged fall wonderland, complete with pumpkin patches, petting zoos, haunted barns, and a cozy market filled with homemade goodies.

Maan Farms Abbotsford BC Canada

The farm is located at 790 McKenzie Road, just a short drive from Vancouver (1 hour or less), making it perfect for a weekend escape or spontaneous day trip. And here’s the best part: it’s still run by the Maan family, now in its second generation, with Kris and Devinder Maan (and their kids!) keeping the tradition alive. Their motto? Farming, family, and fun — and you’ll feel all three the moment you arrive

What to Expect When You Arrive

Parking at Maan Farms is refreshingly easy, and FREE! One thing that we really appreciated is the large free parking space. There’s a large gravel lot right by the entrance, and even on busy weekends, we found a spot without circling. It’s free, well-marked, and just steps away from the main attractions — which is a blessing when you’re carrying pumpkins, pie, and a sleepy toddler (or just a full belly). If you come late and cannot find a spot by the entrance, there is also a large parking space across the farm, close to the Corn Maze. This area can accommodate even more vehicles than the once close to the entrance. But as always, if you can, come early to secure parking. They open at 9:00AM and by 10:30AM the front entrance gravel parking was already full.

Once you’re inside, the farm layout is intuitive. Signs point you toward the pumpkin patch, haunted barn, petting zoo, and market, and staff are always nearby if you need help. I recommend grabbing a map at the entrance or snapping a photo of the layout board — especially if you’re planning to hit all the highlights. They will give you one anyway when you purchase or have your ticket scanned. And don’t worry about getting lost — even the corn maze has friendly guides if you need a nudge in the right direction. getting lost in the maze is part of the fun.

Arriving at Maan Farms

We came 30 minutes earlier to get good parking and to avoid standing up long in the line up. The trick work as we were few of the first and the parking was almost empty. We were the first on the line, early bird we are! The moment I took appeared into the entrance of the farm, I knew we were in for something special. Rows of pumpkins lined the entrance, hay bales stacked like cozy couches, and the scent of cinnamon and kettle corn filled the air. It felt like stepping into a postcard — but with real dirt, real joy and real pumpkin spiced ice cream on hand.

Where Fall Feels Like a Fairy Tale

If I had to choose one standout moment from our visit, it would be the Magic Forest Pumpkin Patch — hands down. Tucked away behind the main barn, this enchanted corner of Maan Farms feels like something out of a storybook.

Picture winding forest paths lined with colourful pumpkins in different shapes and sizes, whimsical pumpkin displays, and cozy nooks perfect for photos, daydreams, or just soaking in the fall vibes. Just like what I saw people posting in Instagram.

As we wandered through the trees, each turn revealed something new: stacked pumpkins in every shade of orange, rustic wooden signs with sweet fall quotes, swing, mini bridge and plenty of decorated huts perfect for taking photo. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, breathe in the crisp air, and remember why you love this season so much.

This place have this magical feel as soon as you stepped in the pumpkin patch. I felt like a kid again wanting to have a phot in every corner of this magical forest. They definitely did a great job. I would say one of the best Pumpkin Patch places I had visited so far.

The pumpkin patch field was not as muddy as other places I had visited which was great. It was comfortable walking around without the fear of slipping. It was a sunny dry day which helped a lot. I would suggest come on a sunny day for the best experience possible.

Hay Bales, Pumpkins, & Fall Backdrops

Every corner of the farm is a photo op. Whether it’s the pumpkin wall, the vintage truck, or the fairy-lit barn, you’ll want your camera ready. I recommend early morning as soon as they open for a less crowded phot opportunity. You can also visit late afternoon close to for that soft, golden glow but it there will be more people around.

Finding the One in the “Sea” of Orange

We spent a good hour in the pumpkin patch, and yes — I picked three. One for carving, one for baking, and one just because it was too cute to leave behind. The patch is sprawling, with wheelbarrows available (thank goodness), and every pumpkin has its own personality.

The Petting Zoo – Up Close & Personal

If you’re visiting with kids — or just love animals — the petting zoo is a must. The goats are hilarious, the chickens are surprisingly photogenic, and the alpacas?

Total divas. Bring quarters for feed and prepare for some gentle nibbles and big smiles. You can buy a ticket that comes with everything and this covers feeds for the animals.

Let the Little Ones Run Wild

If you’re visiting Maan Farms with kids — or just young-at-heart companions — the playground areas are a total win. There’s not just one, but several spots designed for climbing, sliding, and imaginative play. From rustic wooden structures to colorful slides and tire swings, each area has its own charm.

One of the highlights? The giant jumping pillow. It’s like a trampoline meets a bouncy castle, and it’s always buzzing with giggles. There’s also a sand play zone with diggers and buckets, perfect for toddlers who love to build and bury. And for the brave ones, the zipline offers a quick thrill with a soft landing.

The best part? Everything is safely enclosed and close to seating areas, so parents can relax with a cider or coffee while keeping an eye on the action. It’s the kind of setup that makes you want to stay a little longer — and maybe join in the fun yourself.

Ice Cream, Curry & Pie’s that Feels Like Home

Let’s talk food, because a trip without food is not a complete trip. Maan Farms knows how to feed your soul. You can enjoy sweet and savoury treats and eat to your hearts content. The concession area outside is where you get the ice cream (a MUST have), samosa’s, hot and cold drinks and few other delicious treats. If you are feeling really hungry, head inside and get yourself a bowl of warm curry, chicken or chickpea — your choice.

We have 2 places to visit today so I do not want to over eat. As expected, I head to the concession where I had my eye on their Pumpkin Spice Soft Serve Sundae. It was freezing cold that day, but hey … it is never too cold for a sundae especially if it is as pretty and delicious as this.

The ice cream costed 15CAD, which I honestly think is quite expensive although expected for a tourist place like this. It was good, a very nice subtle pumpkin spice flavour, smooth, creamy and not too sweet. There are other sweet treats like the Apple Pie Samosa that looks great too, but this one sundae took a lot of space in my stomach I do not have space to eat anything else.

Fruit Wine tasting with a Cozy Twist

Did you know Maan Farms makes their own wine? So if you are into wine tasting, this could be another fun thing to do while you are there. The tasting room is rustic and welcoming, and the staff are happy to chat about pairings and process. I do no drink alcohol so I had to skip this.

Jams, Candles & Delicious Fall Treats to Go

Before heading home, we stopped by the market, the second time just to see if there is anything anyone would like to take home. I did not get anything but there are certainly few things that looks great for taking home. It’s the kind of place where you find gifts for others — and a few for yourself.

Getting Lost & Finding Your Way

The corn maze is a fall staple, and Maan’s version is both fun and challenging. A lot more people were on the pumpkin patch but there were couple of people around the maze. Visit the maze last so you have ample time to get lost and wander inside. After the maze, you can go back in and have a second helping of fall treats, so many to try for so little time.

Make it a Fun Day to Remember

If you’re planning a visit, I recommend dressing in layers (even sunny day can be really cold), wearing boots you don’t mind getting muddy, and bringing a big appetite. Maan Farms is more than just a pumpkin patch — it’s a celebration of everything we love about fall. And if you’re like me, you’ll leave with full hands, a full belly, full heart and fulfilled memories for years to come.

Nearby Attractions Worth Exploring

Abbotsford has plenty of nearby gems that pair beautifully with your farm visit — whether you’re traveling with kids, friends, or just soaking up solo time. We stopped by at Taves Farm for the 2nd Pumpkin Patch adventure. This is located only 4 minutes away from the Maan Farms so it was a great option.
