Summer is the time when Festivals are happening left and right here in Vancouver, Canada. That’s one good thing about Canada, we celebrate diversity and we respect each other’s beliefs and culture.
I like going to cultural festivals like this. I like the lively atmosphere but most especially I like trying new food. It’s a fun thing to do, and a nice way to kill time on a lovely and sunny Sunday like these.
This years theme is “Amore”, which means Love♥ Italian Day is a cultural street festival celebrating Italian culture and heritage. One of the largest attended cultural festival annually. As expected, there are so many people in the street, there are food vendors, performances, retail booth, live music and more.
Just like shopping, I walked the entire street (end to end) to check what looks good and what I will feed my hungry and excited stomach. The moment I smelled BBQ, I knew what I wanted to have. Sausage it is! I love italian Sausage especially the spicy one, and so this is what I started to focus on. The hunt for grilled Italian Sausage begins!
Finally, I found the one. I wanted to enjoy it on its own, and I am glad I did not get any bread or vegetable to go it with. It was so good, it was tender, juicy, tasty with a little bit of heat. The heat sealed the deal for me. I wanted to get one more but it felt like my stomach is going to burst already.
I also tried chicken skewers, not Italian but I had been craving for grilled chicken for days now so I decided to have it.It was good, nothing exceptional with it.
Between the sausage and the chicken skewer, I would definitely go with the Sausage. I wanted to try something sweet but those 2 totally occupied the space in my stomach. I cannot believed I had to pass on the dessert, maybe next year I’ll do the dessert first.
I also bought some picnic blanket. It was a good deal and I really like the design. I cannot wait to use it in my next adventure. It would be nice to just lie down fully stretch in the grass while reading my book and listening to music.
It was a fun-filled day, and now I am ready to rest for tomorrow, it’s back to work. Till next time! Gracie
