Easy Chimichuri Sauce By SweetNSpicyLiving

I’ve never tried making Chimichurri Sauce before until just recently and I asked myself why on earth have I not made this sauce sooner? It taste so good with the steak that I had been putting spoonful and spoonful of this sauce on my steak. It’s that seriously good. I’ve heard about this sauce quite a few times when I was watching food shows but I never bothered to check what it was. It doesn’t look like anything special to me, it’s a bunch of fresh herbs and spices and so why bother making it. I never realized how the natural freshness of those herbs and spices could actually take the food in a different level. Did I already say it was seriously good? I’m saying it again, it’s seriously good for a simple and easy sauce. It’s one handy sauce that from now on I will be keeping in my fridge for everyday use. It could literally use this for almost anything. Although this sauce is most commonly used for steak, it’s also perfect for other grilled meat and seafood, talking about grilled prawns, yum!

I used my mini food chopper because this is a small batch, you can also use a food processor or a blender if making a larger batch. It is going to be a challenge chopping this manually as I doubt that you will be able to get the right consistency. You really need to have a chopper or blender to do this.

What is Chimichurri Sauce?

Chimichurri is made from combination of finely chopped parsley, cilantro and oregano which are basically fresh herbs plus garlic, seasoning and something acidic like lemon, lime or white wine vinegar. It is almost like pesto, only it doesn’t contain any nuts and cheese. It doesn’t require any cooking at all, it is just a process or mixing or blending all ingredients like a sauce. The sauce is commonly used for steak or grilled chicken or seafood like prawn. It can be used as sauce and as marinade too.
