Cold rainy weather calls for hot drinks. This Cardamom White Hot Chocolate is guaranteed a good companion for you on these types of days, not to mention snowy days probably in some areas. Hot Chocolate is one of my favorite hot drinks during Fall and Winter.
Don’t hate me but I am not a fan of pumpkin spice flavored drinks that is why I do not have any pumpkin spice drinks in my website. I am pretty sure somebody else got you covered on that so I leave that to the pumpkin spice lover. I know, I know! A lot of people love them, it was just something that was not common in the Philippines where I grew up, but hot chocolate is a real deal there. In fact, we have really strong cocoa used for hot chocolate.
But today is not about traditional Hot Chocolate, although I have a video post for that if decadent dark chocolate is what you are craving for right now. In my case, I like drinking milk at night and so white hot chocolate is my thing. I’ve made simple variations of white hot chocolate, the likes of vanilla and matcha which I will also share in the next few days. Cardamom flavor however is my new favorite way to flavor my white hot chocolate.

About This Recipe
- Ease in Making the Recipe: Hot chocolate for me is always an easy and fun way to make at home. You can make this in 10 – 15 minutes, even less. White chocolate melts faster than dark or semi sweet which makes the preparation even faster. Simply bring the milk to a simmer (not boiling) then add the chopped white chocolate and cardamom powder. Depending on how sweet the chocolate you are using, you may or may not need to add a sweetener. Add the sugar at the end so you have the chance to taste it first and adjust as needed.
- Ingredients: Only 3 must ingredients to make this. Milk, white chocolate and cardamom powder. The sweetener is optional. Taste the drink first so you know if you need to add a sweetener or not. There are only 3 ingredients here, so use a good quality chocolate for a better taste. After all, if you are going to indulge something, make it worth it.
- Texture, Taste & Flavor: Creamy, milky and I love the flavor the cardamom gave to this drink. It made a simple milk drink cozy and delicious. A small amount goes a long way.
- Make-Ahead: Yes you can. Store the drink in the refrigerator and reheat when ready to drink. Make sure to not overheat the drink as this could make the drink oily. Over heating the milk with white chocolate could make the fat float. Simmer it but do not bring it to a boil. This recipe is so easy to make. I highly recommend to make it when you need it. You can have chopped white chocolate ready so all you need to do is simmer the milk and add the white chocolate and cardamom powder
