One thing I love about living in British Columbia (BC), is the many activities that we can do during Summer without having to go too far. There are quite a lot of activities and attractions that are accessible by public transportation, some are even walking distance and some are only few hours by car. For someone like me who likes to explore places and just walk around, British Columbia is the perfect fit for me.

Summer is the time where I explore places, and revisit places that I had been to. I had a separate post where I showed some of the places that I like to visit during Summer, checkout my Things To Do in British Columbia post to get a look at the places. Most of them are easily accessible by public transportation, and some of them even free, no entrance fee.

Last week, I got the chance to revisit Whistler, which is quite famous attraction during winter. Although I had visited Whistler several times already during winter and I had never fully explored it during Summer. This time around, I had decided to explore it to see what is there to do during Summer. This post is a two parts post, first part is this post, a stopover to Brandywine Provincial Park which is about 30 minutes away from Whistler. We only stopped for few minutes but it was really worth stopping at this place.

Brandywine Falls

Brandywine Falls Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located adjacent to BC Highway 99 between Garibaldi and Whistler, British Columbia. It is managed by Sea to Sky Parks for BC Parks.

This park provides opportunities for hiking, picnicking, mountain biking and viewing of the waterfall. The park was tripled in size in 2010 to include unique habitat for red-legged frogs (a provincial “blue listed” species at risk). A number of existing recreation trails were included in the expanded park as well. (Source: Wikipedia)

Short Walk

From the entrance to the lookout point, it only took about 10-15 minutes walking. It was an easy short hike, the road is quite flat although a good walking shoes is advisable for comfortable walking. There are few hiking trails in the area, but we only did the one that lead to the falls. The area is lush and green with tall old trees providing shades while we walk. Pay attention to the water along the side of the path, as this water is the one that goes down to the water falls.

At the end of the short walk, there is a lookout which gives a fantastic view of the Brandywine Falls. It was breathtaking sight to see, truly beautiful. The way that the water falls, the clear blue water at the bottom, the rock formations on the side was really worth the stop.
