[VIDEO] Delicious Small Batch Blueberry Custard Trifle

Hey there, dessert lovers! If you’re looking for a simple yet impressive treat, you’re in the right place. Today, we’re talking about a delightful Blueberry Custard Trifle that’s perfect for any occasion. This recipe is a small batch, so it’s great for a cozy gathering or a special treat just for you.

Let’s dive into the key ingredients that make this trifle so delicious. You’ll need lady fingers, homemade vanilla custard cream, light whipped cream, and a homemade blueberry compote. These simple ingredients come together to create layers of flavor and texture that are sure to please.

Using lady fingers as the cake base makes this recipe a breeze. They soak up the custard beautifully and add a lovely, light texture to the trifle. Plus, they save you the time and effort of baking a cake from scratch. If you cannot find lady fingers, you can use a sponge or chiffon cake and cut them up to pieces. You can make them or buy them in grocery. This is how flexible this dessert.

Homemade Vanilla Custrd Pastry Cream

The homemade Vanilla Custard Crème is a star in this recipe. Made with real vanilla from vanilla sticks, it adds a rich, creamy layer that’s simply irresistible. The authentic vanilla flavor really shines through and elevates the whole dessert. You can also use pure vanilla extract (the liquid one) if you do not have the vanilla stick. This custard cream can be made 3 days ahead so this gives you plenty of breathing room to relax.

Blueberry Sauce

Now, let’s talk about the blueberry compote. This part is super easy—just simmer fresh or frozen blueberries with a bit of sugar until they turn into a bubbly, delicious sauce. It’s a great way to use up those berries and adds a burst of fruity goodness to the trifle. This sauce can also be made a day or even 3 days ahead just like the pastry cream. In fact, I highly recommend making this at least 1 day ahead so that it will have enough time to cool and thicken. Make a large batch and use the rest for pancakes, so good!

Why Make This Recipe?

Why should you make this recipe? Well, it’s delicious, for starters! But beyond that, it’s a versatile, crowd-pleasing dessert that’s perfect for any occasion. It’s also a fun way to get creative in the kitchen without spending hours on a complex recipe.

Fresh or Frozen Blueberry, Gof For It!

One of the best things about this trifle is that it works with both fresh and frozen blueberries. So no matter what time of year it is, you can always whip up a batch of this delicious treat.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy dessert, this Blueberry Custard Trifle is the way to go. It comes together quickly, with minimal effort, and the results are stunning.

Despite being so easy to make, this trifle looks and tastes like a dessert you’d find in a fancy bakery. It’s a perfect example of how you can create something elegant without a lot of fuss.

Great for Make-Ahead

Lastly, this recipe is great for making ahead of time. The vanilla pastry cream, whipped cream, and blueberry compote can all be prepared a day in advance. Just assemble the trifle when you’re ready to serve, and you’re good to go. How cool is that? Fancy, delcious dessert that comes so easily.

I would even recommend making day 1 day ahead so that the lady fingers have enough time to soak all the juices and flavor from blueberry sauce and the creamy custard and whipped cream.

So, why wait? Give this Blueberry Custard Trifle a try and treat yourself to a little slice of heaven. Happy cooking!
