4 Easy Slushie to Beat the Heat

We are in the middle of hot Summer right now and the weather is getting hotter every day. Summer is my favorite season and probably most of us who live in British Columbia (BC), Canada. Some people joke around and call us “Raincouver” instead of Vancouver because we get more rain than snow. So when the temperature becomes double digit, we start to get excited, but when it reach 30+, we start to complain. We only have 3 months (or 4 if we get lucky) of warm weather and so we tend to make the most of it. In my case, outdoor activities like hiking, biking, gardening and making Summer cool treats and drinks are the things I look forward to during Summer.

I love doing outdoor activities, but when the weather hits past 25, I would either head to the waterfront, spread the blanket, lie down, read or listen to music and eat. When it gets 28 and above, I would rather stay and be cozy in my balcony and drink a cold tall glass of homemade fruit juices.

Summer is not complete without me making homemade Summer drinks and frozen treats. This is the time of the year that I go crazy making fruit juices, shakes, smoothies, slushie, ice tea and cold milk drinks. I thought I will start Sumner by sharing with you some of my favorite Summer drinks. They are easy to make, budget friendly and refreshing without breaking your budget. So next time you think of buying ice tea outside, check out this post and be inspired to make it at home. There’s something for everyone, pick your choice.
