In my Take a Peek at the Behind The Scenes of Food Blogging, I shared with you my process when creating a post. Although it takes a lot of time, it gives me a lot of joy doing thing. Blogging keeps me sane 🙂 and help me balance my life between work and personal time. I love sharing recipes with you as well as my travel escapades. I had been busier lately with work and I started making my meals on the fly, you know whatever I have on hand. Something that I do not have to plan just like when creating a posts for the blog. I thought I would create a short post about this, not as elaborate as my full post but enough to give you idea on how you can make it at home. This will be easy and quick recipes that you can make in less than 30 minutes max or even 5 minutes less. We all need a short break from the kitchen, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop making delicious meals to nourish us.

This is one of my go to Summer dessert. I love eating fresh fruits during the Summer and I love using them for my baking and cooking too. But when the weather hits close to 30C, I would rather skip opening my oven unless needed. I am always for quick, easy, delicious and no bake dessert when the weather is hot. I know compared to other places that gets even hotter then 30C, I don’t really have the right to complain about being hot here. But I guess I am just saying, hot weather makes me gravitate to easy dessert that do not require much time and baking.

I recently made this because I was looking for a plant based dessert for one of my vegan days. I know I want something easy, but I am not willing to compromise the taste. It has to be easy and delicious. Good thing that I have a lot of fresh fruits in my refrigerator, and I just bought a Papaya which I had been craving for days now. So I decided to make a Fresh Fruit & Yogurt Boat.

Today’s Quick & Easy Recipe
We are making Fresh Fruit & Yogurt Boat. This is an easy, no recipe, no baked fresh fruit dessert. You will need fresh fruits and optional toppings that you can switch and change to your preference. You can definitely make this in a serving bowl, but I think using the fruit itself as a bowl makes it looks even more appealing and fun to make.

Fruits that are great for a Bowl
If you are using the fruit as a bowl, you have several options that you can use. Any fruit that you can make the skin as a bowl will work.
- Papaya
- Cantaloupe
- Watermelon
- Orange
- Grape Fruit
- Mango
- Dragon Fruit
- Kiwi
The bigger the fruit, the better because you can fill it in with more fruits. If you are serving it for a larger group, small fruits like Orange and Mango is a nice single serving fresh fruit bowl. I often make this with Papaya, Cantaloupe and Watermelon. I like making a generous serving especially if I this is the only dessert I am serving. I also make this for breakfast or snack, just like any yogurt and fruit bowl. If you do not feel like using the fruit as a bowl, feel free to use any bowl for serving. Parfait glass or any transparent glass are nice as it shows what’s inside the bowl. You know, presentation makes a huge difference.
This one here is a Cantaloupe Fruit Bowl. I did not scoop out the flesh and simply added the toppings in the center.

Topping & Filling
When I say filling, this is basically what you will put inside the bowl. One reason why I love using Papaya, Cantaloupe and Watermelon was because the flesh of these fruits are already what I put inside the bow, plus they are larger and can accommodate more filling. Who wouldn’t want more fruits inside. I scoop them out using my melon baller or sometimes I diced them. Now on top of that, I add whatever fresh fruits that I have that complement the fruit bowl. Just to name a few of my favorite, Berries, Kiwi, Orange, Apple, Pear, Peach,Plum, Pomegranate, Grapes and Banana. How much you add depends on how big is your bowl. This is why I did not give an exact measurement for the ingredients. You can use whatever fruits and toppings you like. You can as much or less as you like. It’s your bowl, enjoy it the way you like it. We don’t need to complicate things.
For the toppings, my basic are nuts, seeds, shredded coconuts, granola, and sometimes even chocolate.

What Type of Yogurt To Use
Anything. Dairy, non-dairy, flavored or un-flavoured. It is totally up to you. If you want a creamier dessert, you know using thick dairy Greek yogurt is the best way to go. I made this for my vegan day so I used Coconut Yogurt.

Ingredients:
- Yogurt – dairy or non-dairy, flavored or plain
- Fresh Fruits
- Chopped Nuts
- Shredded Coconut
Instructions:
- If using the fruit as a bowl, prepare the fruit bowl by removing the fruit fresh. Leave about 1/4-inch thick flesh so the fruit bowl is sturdy to hold the filling. Set aside the fruit flesh for use as filling for the bowl.
- Spread yogurt at the bottom. Fill with fruit flesh you set aside earlier plus more fresh fruits of your choice. You can add another layer of yogurt then fruits.
- Add toppings of your choice.
As simple as that! Enjoy!
