Simple Grilled Peach is so easy to prepare and can be served and used in several ways. Whichever you choose, it’s guaranteed you will love it.
Eating fresh Peach 🍑 is still the best option, but it won’t hurt to have a change sometimes. I have to tell you I was kind of hesitant when I read the idea of grilling Peach. Eating fresh Peach for me is the best way to go, but when I tried grilling it, I actually liked it too. It was a nice way to enjoy and serve Peach differently for a change.

About This Recipe
- Ease in Making the Recipe: Grilling Peach is easy so do not what away from it. Not only that it is easy, it taste good too. You can grill in in a open flame BBQ or in a grill plate. Grilling each sides takes only 3 – 5 minutes depending on how high the fire is or or how hot the pan.
- Ingredients: Only 3 ingredients, that’s simple enough. You need Peach, butter and honey. You can even skip the last 2 ingredients and just use Peach if you wan to keep it healthier.
- Texture, Taste & Flavor: The texture is softer than a fresh Peach. It has more flavor from the butter and honey.
- Make-Ahead: You can make it ahead, but I always grill this the same day I want to use it. I find the texture better it terms of firmness. You can grill this few hrs before serving. This is a great option for yogurt, oatmeal, ice cream or salad toppings. If you are serving it for breakfast, make a yogurt parfait and add it as a topping. This is also a nice option for serving to a large group. Grill a large batch and have them in a serving plate either for dessert or salad garnishing.
Ingredients for Grilled Peach
- Peaches – use ripe but still firm Peach for better texture. Using overripe Peach will end up to be too mushy when grilled.
- Butter – a small amount to brush the Peach. This prevent sticking to the pan and helps good caramelization.
- Honey 🍯 – totally optional but I like grilled Peach to have additional hint of sweetness. It also adds a nice glossy shine which looks more pleasing to the eye and enhances the taste too.

How to Make Grilled Peach
I love 🍑 Peach, so much that I cannot stop myself from buying it as soon as the Peach season starts. I like how versatile it is. It’s is good to have on its own, fresh and pure, but also wonderful for use in baking, even for grilling. Yes, grilling. When I first saw grilled Peach in Pinterest, I knew immediately that I have to try it out of curiosity. I never thought if grilling stone fruits before and it won’t hurt to try, and so I gave it a try.
There’s nothing difficult in grilling Peach, it only takes 2-4 minutes and no messy cleaning up required. I did some research on how people are doing it. Some use actual fire grill and some use a grill plate on stove top. I opted for the later for an easier process but I will also try the actual grill next time. I am thinking the grilling time would be less as it is direct fire but it shouldn’t be that much difference.
Now the Peach. What should I do with it? Should I just slice, remove the pit, and immediately grill it? Should I grease it with oil, butter? Or maybe sprinkle some sugar for a nice Caramelization?
I opted for simple process which I think worked really well. I brushed the Peach with butter, just that. I then heated the grill pan on stove top and grilled the Peach for 3 minutes on medium heat. I left it full 3 minutes without moving it, this way I will get the nice grill marks on the Peach, and that they are all in the same direction.
After removing it from the grill, I had it brushed with honey, to give it a nice glossy shiny finish and to add a bit more sweetness. Totally optional but it really makes a difference

Lets Talk About Peach
Just like any other fruits, Peach comes in different type. Each type could differ in color, size and shape. If you think that knowing these things is not important, think twice because these information are actually helpful in making the most of the peach that you buy. Some types are best for baking, while others are better for grilling or use in salads. Some Peach are easier to remove the stone, and some are irritating to work on. Picking the right type of Peach could actually save you few minutes in your kitchen, why so? Read on.

Clingstone vs. Freestone, What is the Difference?
Peach comes into 2 categories, Clingstone and Freestone. I honestly do not have an idea before between these two, and I am glad I paid attention as this makes my life a whole lot easier when working with Peaches. So Clingstone is a type of Peach where the pit or the stone clings to the surface of the Peach making it harder to remove. This makes preparation time a bit more time consuming when used for baking or cooking. This is best for eating where you can just bite on the Peach and throw the pit as soon as you are done with it. Freestone of the other hand is the opposite, this type of Peach is easier to work on and are best for use in baking and cooking. The pit can be easily removed when you sliced the Peach, it doesn’t cling to the surface of the Peach.

Types of Peach
Now that you know which once to choose, let us learn about the type of Peaches. Knowing each type allows you to decided which one is better for the intended use. Peaches comes into 2 main flesh color, Yellow and White.
- Yellow Peaches – This is my personal favorite. The color ranges from light yellow to orange yellow streaked with red. they are juicy, sweet and with light acidity. When choosing which one to pick, choose the ones that are heavy (this means there is more juice in it) but are pretty stable and does not dent easily with pressure when you push it. You do not want a “mushy” Peach. For baking and cooking, choose ripe but not too ripe so it doesn’t easily disintegrate when you bake or cook it. If you are going to eat it as is, you can get a riper Peach.
- White Peach – as the name goes, the flesh of this Peach is pale pink hue on the outside and a pale yellow flesh. They are sweeter with low acidity, they are also softer than Yellow Peaches. because of the softer texture, it doesn’t hold up well for baking or cooking. This is best for eating raw, or for light grilling
- Donut Peach – This lovely looking Peach have a flat, saucer shape resembling a doughnut, hence the name “Doughnut Peach”. They are sweet and they have whiter skin. This type if best for eating fresh.
- Nectarines – I did not know that Nectarine is actually a type of Peach, Yes they are. They have smooth skin, could have a white or yellow flesh, could be clingstone or freestone and they have sweet honeyed flavor. They have a firmer texture, almost like the texture of Apple or Pear. They could be used for baking and cooking because it holds well, they are also great for grilling or for eating fresh

Tip: Do NOT user overripe Peach
One very important tip is to make sure to use ripe but still hard Peach. Do not use over ripe Peach as it could get too mushy when grilled. You want the Peach to still hold its shape after grilling it.
How to Serve Grilled Peach
- Serve it as is: You can serve this as is and drizzle some honey on top
- Serve it with Yogurt: This is my favorite way of serving it. A simple Peach and yogurt bowl, sprinkle of granola, more nuts, shredded coconut and a generous drizzle of honey. Breakfast is served
- Serve it on Oatmeal: Another easy breakfast idea if to serve it as toppings for oatmeal. Add some granola, nuts and dried fruits and you got yourself covered for another breakfast idea
- Serve it on Salad: now for lunch, you can slice it up and top it on the salad. It’s a delicious way to take your salad to another level. Fruits adds texture and sweetness to salad and makes it more filling
- Serve it with ice cream: for dessert, serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and sprinkle of chopped nuts
- Serve it with whipped cream: another dessert idea is just to serve it with whipped cream, drizzle of honey and garnish with fresh raspberry
Now you know why I love this grilled Peach. So easy and yet so many ways to serve it. I hope thus you will give it a try and if you do please leave a comment, better yet, tag me and share the photo of your creation.
