[VIDEO] Egg-citing Egg Recipe: Cheesy Baked Egg

Today I am sharing with you another simple and easy, egg-citing recipe. No baking or cooking experience needed to make this egg dish, as long as you can mix ingredients, you can make this. This may sound so easy to be egg-citing for you, and that’s probably true. I call this Cheesy Baked Egg or Cheesy Egg Baked, but it’s just basically I mashed up between scrambled egg and Fritata baked in ramekin dish. What really excites me about this recipe is how easy it is to make, and how a simple dish like dish could be made into a head turner breakfast item. You can easily make it fancy looking, and a breakfast that nobody will say no to (except the vegans and probably those who don’t like egg).

From the name itself, you’ve probably know what you can expect from this. Lots of cheese (that’s good, right?) and of course egg. If you look at the ingredients you’ll probably thinking that’s a lot of ingredients juts for an egg recipe. If you really examine the ingredients, most of them are spices and seasonings. As for the cheese, I used 4 types of cheese but you can certainly use at least 2 types of cheese at the minimum. The ingredients I used for this breakfast item are basically what I have in my fridge and cupboard. It’s this kind of breakfast where you wake up, wondering what to eat and just used up whatever you have on hand. So if you are in that kind of morning situation, give this Cheesy Egg Bake a try, or my other easy egg-citing recipes. I left the links below

What are the Ingredients for Cheesy Egg Bake?

It looks quite a lot, BUT these are mostly just spices so do not worry. You can swap the spices with spices that you like, and you can even keep it simple with just salt and pepper.

  • All-Purpose Flour – to give more body and stability to the egg
  • Baking Powder – to give a bit of a lift to the dish
  • Sugar – to enhance the taste
  • Sugar – I like to balance the salty with slight sweetness, you can totally opt to remove it
  • Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika, Garlic Powder, dried Parsley – Seasoning and spices to taste. You can also sue cayenne pepper, red chile flakes, Basil, Oregano or any of your favorite herbs and spices
  • Eggs – I used 2 large eggs
  • Milk – This lighten up the mixture
  • Mozzarella Cheese, White Cheddar Cheese, Parmesan Cheese and Cream Cheese – 4 different types of cheese blend. You can use at least a minimum of 2
  • Butter – just a small amount, we all know butter makes food taste better

How to make Cheesy Egg Bake

As I mentioned earlier, this is a super easy recipe. You will just basically mix all the ingredients together. No electric mixer needed and all can be done in one bowl. Super easy!

Small Batch Cheese Fritata

Can I make this using a regular size dish?

If you do not have a ramekin, you can definitely bake this in any oven safe dish. Use a dish that best fit the amount of mixture, something a little bit deeper so you do not end up with a thin baked omelette.

Let’s start making our breakfast to kick start our day. I made short video on how I made this easy breakfast, I hope you will have time to watch it. Let’s get started!

Variations:

This variation is the simple egg and cheese. You can also add some chopped cold cuts like ham, turkey, bacon etc. For veggies, add some sliced onion, chopped spinach or sliced mushroom. Add just enough but not too much. Adding too much could dry up the mixture. If you want to add more mix-in, better to add more milk or egg. Tweaking and adjusting this recipe is not as risky. This is just like similar to making a fritata baked in a ramekin.
