My Trip

Cascade Gardens was the last stop we did for our 3 days girls hiking trip. The last day was our relax day, no more extraneous physical activity, just a slow chill day. I think that’s a great way to end a trip, slow pace and a bit of food trip along the way.

I love visiting gardens, even more when it is FREE, lol. Who doesn’t love free entrance? This garden is open to the public and is worth a visit when you have time.

The mountain backdrop with the flowers and water feature in the garden is simply stunning. I felt like I was looking at a perfect postcard scene.

cascase Garden Activities

I did not see any food stands or cafe within the garden but this garden is very close to downtown area so there are plenty of food places if you just walk around the area. You can also bring your own snacks and sit in one of those little gazebo.

Overall, it was a nice visit and I would highly recommend you stop at this place if you have time. It’s a nice extra itinerary to pass the time without having to spend anything unless of course you decide to have meal after 🙂 Meal after a walk is a nice activity too, always 🙂

Welcome to cascade gardens

How Long to Visit

I recommend planning to stay for a maximum of one hour during the summer. I believe this is more than enough if you just want to walk around, enjoy the scenery and take a photo. If you want to stay longer, do so as you please. However, If you’re passionate about plants, you could spend up to two hours enjoying the different types of flowers on display and chatting with the friendly Parks Canada landscaping staff. There is no entrance fee for this garden which is really great so you can go back anytime you want.

Although Cascade Gardens are most vibrant in summer, they can be enjoyed throughout all four seasons. Fall offers golden foliage, winter brings a serene snow-dusted landscape, and spring brings fresh blooms. We went here during the Summer and the garden was really stunning. This is a great free activity that you can add to your itinerary if you are in the area and looking for something to pass the time.

Grab a coffee from one of Banff’s cafes and enjoy it as you stroll down to Cascade Gardens. It’s a delightful way to escape the crowds and immerse yourself in nature. Remember to take your time, immerse yourself in nature, and enjoy the tranquility of Cascade Gardens and its surroundings!
