Fall is here which means more cozy time, Apple and pumpkin desserts and a visit to Pumpkin Patch.
A visit to a pumpkin Patch used to be a kids activity. Not true anymore! In fact, a lot more adults are spending time to visit Pumpkin Patch. This could be attributed to the creativity and more fun adult activity that you can do in a Pumpkin Patch.

I have a Pumpkin Patch that is not so far from where I live. It is not as big and grand as the other Pumpkin Patch but works for a few hours visit to pass the time.

I always visit this place around first week of October so that there are still the Dahlia’s display. The Pumpkin Patch, corn maze, sunflower and dahlia display are all in the same area. The sunflower by October are done already but the Dahlias are still in full bloom.

I went on a weekday for a change than my usual weekend visit. Such a huge difference! First, the ticket is cheaper from 18CAD to 15CAD. Second, there’s not much crowd which could be good or bad for some people.

In terms of getting a nice photo and having a more relax phase, I prefer my weekday visit. I was able to take photo and videos without too much people in the background. The wait time to take the hay ride to the main area was also shorter. In fact, there was no wait time. I was able to immediately board the hay ride as soon as I went to the loading area.

In terms of the feeling of festivities, weekday have a very low key feel. Because there are not people, there was no sense of excitement in the air. I guess it does really have a pros and cons. If you want to have a not so crowded visit, weekday is far better but the atmosphere is not as festive and alive. You cannot have the both worlds.

The hay ride was a very short ride to the main Pumpkin Patch area, probably less than 10 minutes.
From the entrance, you will be greeted with scattered pumpkin on the ground and stunning view of the dahlias, lots of them! I have to admit, being a flower person, I was more excited seeing the Dahlias more than the pumpkins. Pumpkin is more just like a side trip for me.

I had been here probably 2-3 times. My first visit was the most exciting one because I am seeing everything for the first time. The succeeding visits were ok just to pass the time. I did not notice much changes, maybe on the food truck and the vendors who participated. The layout and display are almost similar from year to year.

I started heading to the Dahlia area first. Absorbing and admiring the beautiful colorful display of Dahlias. Stunning I have to say. There were so many variations, colors and sizes. They have nice ledge or view platform for a nice wider view of the flower display. I think this was one of my favorite spot.

They’ve added more seating area in the pumpkin and dahlia area which was nice. I sat for a while munching on my snack while I rest.

It was a sunny day when I visited so the bright light was really making it a challenge for me to take beautiful photos. Nonetheless, I think was able to take some worth sharing.

They also have corn maze which I did not bother to do this time. I’ve done them before and also because of the previous rainy days, the maze is wet and slippery. So I’ll pass on that.

The new are they’ve added this year was the dinosaur land. They’ve added some dinosaur instillation within the Dahlia display which was nice.

Of course I have to talk about the pumpkins as that was supposedly the reason for this visit. The tickets come with 1 free pumpkin of your choice. You can get as small as or big as you like. No one is checking how many each people get but the rule is 1 pumpkin per person.

As always, I walked around looking for my pumpkin. I was looking for a small one and I found my pumpkin. This one here! Took it, packed it and carried it with me back to where the hay ride starts.

There were few food trucks to buy snack and drinks. There was not performance when is as there as it was early and on a weekday.

I was delayed by 30 minutes arriving at this place so I did not have time to stay longer. I had an appointment to rush to after this so I went home as soon as I was done with the pumpkin patch visit. No food for me this time.

That’s about time. Thank You for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the virtual tour. Do you like visiting pumpkin patch? Let me know in the comments, I would love to hear you pumpkin patch visit experience.
