We are always on a look for a place to have breakfast when we go to Whistler. There are very vew places to before you reach Whistler and so finding one that is really good is definietly worth sharing. Fergie’s cafe is located in Squamish, BC which is about 1 hour from Downtown Vancouver. It is an open garden style dining, a very relax and chill atmosphere.
Let’s Start the Day with Breakfast @Fergies Cafe in Squamish
- Location: 70002 Squamish Valley Rd, Brackendale, BC V0N 1H0
- Website: https://fergiescafe.ca/
- Hrs of Operation: 7 days a week, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Fergies Cafe is one of our favorite breakfast place whenever we got to Squamish or Whistler. They have a decent size of outdoor dining which is just few steps away from the river. This is one of the thing that I like about this place. Dining outside and making most of the good weather, plus we got to saty by the river while waiting for our table to be available.
The place is not as visible in terms of location. I only found out about this place by a friends recommendation. Even with this secluded location, this place is always paced with people. We’ve never been here where do not have to wait for a table. The wait time varies, but it is tolerable. Nothing like 1 hr wait, probably 10 – 15 minutes. we always stayed by the river while we wait for our table.
They serve traditional north American style breakfast the likes of Egg Benny’s, french toast etc. They also have options both meat lovers and vegetarians. The menu option are not a lot, but more than enough to give people choices. I noticed that most people order eggs benedict and french toast.
The service is good, quite fast for a busy place. The staff are all very nice and attentive. This is definitley a place to stop by for breakfast or brunch.
Eggs Benedict seems to be a favorite here .. but the French Toast top my List
Eggs Benedict is often in the menu of most breakfast places, this one included. They have few options to choose from.
I ordered the West Coast Benny, which is basically smoked trout (it doeslook like a Salmon) with mashed Avocado and pickled onion served on an English muffin. I had the egg cooked medium soft becaise I love a runny yolk. It also comes with a side to smoked baby potato. Let’s not forget the hollaindaise sauce, what is a benny’s without one.
Two of my friends orered Classic Benny (with Ham). The main components are similar except for the Ham and it looks like there is a sundied tomato spread at the bottom instead of Avocado Toast.
Last but not the least is a vegetarian Benny’s. This one is not on the menu so we asked the staff to customized the Classic Benny to make it vegetarian. They replaced the Ham with halloumi cheese.
Saving the best for last 🙂 This Strawberry French Toast is so far my favorite. This is the only sweet item in their menu. A thick brioche bread, perfectlt soaked with custard milk, topped with Strawberry compote and creamy delicious custard which in my opinion is what made this French toast a five star rating for me.
