It’s unexpectedly sunny today, that means I have to put enjoying the sun. Days like this especially during the weekend, I would go out for a walk looking for a nice brunch or breakfast spot. I am a morning person and having breakfast is a must in my book.
Today I am sharing with you the brunch spot I found in Steveston Village, British Columbia Canada. During Spring and Summer, I visit Steveston Village about 2-3x a month. It’s a small quaint Fisherman’s Village with nice small shops and a variety of small cafe and restaurants that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you are a seafood person, this is a good place to be. A lot of restaurants have their own version of Fish and Chips, Breakfast Benny’s, Toast, Pancakes and Waffles. What more do you need? They got it covered.
Cannery Cafe
Quaint little cafe that serves amazing breakfast and brunch options
I’ve past this cafe several time in many years but I’ve never got the chance to stop by and eat something. With so many choices in this area, it’s really quite difficult to choose where to eat.
Cannery Cafe is a small cafe, actually I would call it more of a restaurant. They serve more than coffee and drinks here. In fact, it is far from what you would expect from a cafe. They don’t even have any pastry here like regular cafes. They have full breakfast and brunch meals, the kind that would be good to eat seating down.
Cafe Interior, Rustic & Homey. Make kind of place
The interior of the cafe have a very different vibe, rustic and homey which I always fancy. They have communal table in the center and separate tables on the sides. It’s not a big place, some of the tables are quite close to each other with very little room to move.
Amazing Staff & Great, Quick Service
The staff were all very nice, attentive and polite. The service was great and quick.
What about the food?
Now the food. I have to say the food they served looks amazing. I cannot helped but look at the food being served on the other tables. They all look delicious not to mention beautifully plated. The serving was generous for the price they are charging.
There’s option for everyone
The options here are great, from heavy full brunch meal to a simple light toast. Breakfast Bennys are as expected in the menu, toast, waffles and more.
After few minutes of scanning the menu and looking at what people are ordering, I decided to go for Kimchi Beef, it was a heavy filling brunch for sure. The plate consist of 7oz Sirloin Steak topped with Kimchi, with potato, salad and flatbread and mini yogurt shot. I did not eat anything until 5pm after eating this heavy brunch. Talk about heavy.
Kimchi Beef
I always like breakfast or brunch plate that includes greens, I feel it greens is a must on my plate regardless what meal I am having. They also add mini yogurt shot, kind of a small dessert to compete the meal.
Lavender Latte
For the drinks, I was t thinking of getting any but the server thought I wanted to order Lavender Latte after asking how is was. Anyway, I took it and gave it a try. This will probably a good one for a coffee drinker. I am more of a tea drinker and I find coffee always strong for my taste.
Beautiful sunny day for a stroll
After breakfast, I decided to go for a short walk to burn off all the carbs and calories from that heavy breakfast. It was a beautiful weather and the Cherry Blossoms are starting to come out, not in their peak yet but it was showing off. April 5 was the predicted peak of Cherry Blossoms, I will definitely be back for that. Garry Point Park has an amazing area for Cherry Blossoms, watch out for that as I will be posting that too.
That’s it for today! Thanks for stopping bye. Until my next foodtrip adventure.
