Easy Strawberry Poppy Seed Dressing By SweetnSpicyLiving

It is Summer once again, the most awaited season of the year (at least for me). Summer means more fresh fruits, and more fresh fruits means more baked goods, treats, drinks, and dressing that uses fresh Summer ingredients. This Strawberry Poppy Seed Dressing is one of my favorite Summer dressing, second to my all around Lemon Vinaigrette Dressing which I also plan to share with you, hopefully soon.

Homemade dressing is so easy to make, and budget friendly too. Whether you have fresh fruits that you can use for making a salad dressing or not, you can make a salad dressing at home. This dressing uses fresh Lemon and Strawberry because it is Summer here in Canada and we have lots of Strawberry in the market.

Homemade Fresh Strawberry Dressing

This dressing can easily be adjusted in terms on consistency. If you prefer a thinner dressing, add a bit of water into the mixture to thin it out. Do not add more oil as it will get too thick and oily, or too much lemon as it will get too sour. This is quite thick already, but sometimes when I prefer a more runny dressing, I just add water in it. This is a fun and easy salad dressing to make at home. All you need to do is to put all the ingredients in the blender, blend and Enjoy! You can use it immediately, but I find having it rest for at least 1 hours makes the taste and flavor better. This is because all the fresh flavor, herbs and spices have time to mingle with each other.

If you do not have poppy seed to add, you can skip it and make a plain Strawberry Vinaigrette Dressing, I also have a recipe for that, check it out. That dressing was actually the inspiration for this poppy seed version.

Simple and Easy to Find Ingredients

Homemade salad dressing is very easy to make, and it doesn’t require too much ingredients too. You will need a kitchen blender to start with, a small food chopper works well too although its more convenient to use a blender. It doesn’t have to be a fancy blender; you can use the single serve smoothie blender anything capable of making a puree for fruits. Dump all the ingredients in the blender and process until the texture is smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Just like that!  This Strawberry Poppy Seed Dressing has a very nice sweet and sour fresh fruit flavor and it is great for almost any kind of salad. Let me show you quickly how to make it. Let’s get started!
