My Experience Visiting the Festival
It was Easter long weekend and the second week of the Tulip Festival. I was initially planning to visit the opening week but the field forecat shows a lot of the Tulips are not yet open. I decided to wait one more week. This also gave me time to see other people post so I know the current situation.

It was a good decision to wait another week, the onlt downside was that it was a long weekend and so the place was busy. Me anticipating the busy day, I decided to go for an early visit. They open as early as 6:00AM for the sunrise entry and then regular entry starts at 8:00AM which was the one that I did.

It was a good decision as there was not too many people yet. The field not being too busy and packed with people gave the early bird visitors like me to get a better photo with less people in teh background. I know with teh technology right now you can remove people or anything from that background taht you do not like but why do through that hassle. I am an early morning pwrson anyway and I alwasy like starting early so no problem at all.

The farm is 35 acres but not all areas are planted with Tulips ( as expected) but they do have a large area with Tulips which was more than enough. They have set-up photo areas adding some props for people to have their photo take. There were swing, canoe, benches, a piano (yes, there was a piano stationed in the field!) and a platform where you can go up to have a better view.

The Tulips were beautiful and mesmerizing as always. The diffeent type, shapes and color when mixed together look so stunning. I wish we can have them longer. Unfortunately, this festival last only up to May 11. On the brighter side, Tulips may be done by that time but this farm will also have Sunflower, Lavender and Wild Flower Festival so there is no shortage of flowers up to until September.

The entrance fee was 16CAD as I did it on a Holiday. If you are tight on budget, doing it on regular weekday cost on 10CAD. This is a better option especially if you are visiting with family.

I enjoyed my visit andI think the place not being too crowded at that time helped a lot. I was able to take good photos and videos although visitors were not allowed to go in between the Tulip field, staying in the walking path is more than enough to get a good shot.

It only took me 1.5 hours to finish the visit which was as I had planned. There were food trucks in teh site but they have not opened yet by the time that I was done. They opened 11:00AM and I was done by 10:00AM. I skipped the food truck as I have another place to visit, another Tulip farm acually and they have food trucks there too.

Side Trip To Add
If you have more time and want to maximize the visit in the area, head to Harison Tulip festival in Chiliwack, BC. This is only 30 minutes away from Lakeland Flower Farm. This has bigger area (40 acres) but the the entrance fee is more expensive (22CAD). I highly recommend coming early as this place gets packed with more people. I will have a separate blog post and video for this so stay tune for that.

Is it Worth It
Overall, I think it is a worth day trip activity if you are looking for something to pass time. It is only an hour away from Vancouver and the ticket is not that expensive.
