Peaceful Trail Walk to Start the Adventure
The weekend forecast was looking good and so I thought a weekend day trip is a good idea. My initial plan was to visit a Tulip Farm but the field forecast showed the Tulips are not yet 100% in bloom.
I had to adjust my plan and so I decided to go to Fort Langley (again). Fort Langley is only 45 minutes away from where I live and it is becoming a popular short trip visit for locals and tourist. It is a small quaint place, a 1/2 day visit is more than enough. I’ve been here before and since then this has been one of my favorite short weekend activity.

In this visit, I started a short walk by the river. I arrive around 8:30AM, the place was still quite ad most establishments open 10 or 11AM except some bakeries. The short walk took only 1 hour just enough time for the shops to open up.
After a short walk, I sat by the bench by the River and ate a piece of Cheese Croissant and a cup of green tea. I have energy to start walking around the shopping and cafe area.

I walked around the district area in a slow pace. Today I am not in a hurry so I was able to take my time. I went into some antique shops, bookstores, retail shops and MORE! one reason why I love visiting this place is because it feels like I am in a different era 🙂 the historic area where you get the good vibes of the old things and ways.

A Slice of Chocolate Cake to Treat Myself
Nestled in the heart of historic Fort Langley, Blacksmith Bakery is more than just a café—it’s a celebration of artisan baking and European-inspired flavors. This charming spot, housed in a restored blacksmith shop, blends rustic charm with a modern twist, making it the perfect destination for food lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike.

From buttery croissants to decadent pastries, every item is handcrafted with locally sourced ingredients, ensuring a fresh and flavorful experience. Whether you’re indulging in a flaky almond croissant, savoring a rich espresso, or enjoying a hearty sandwich, each bite reflects the dedication to quality and tradition.

With its warm ambiance, welcoming staff, and mouthwatering menu, Blacksmith Bakery is a must-visit in Fort Langley. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick treat or settling in for a leisurely brunch, this beloved bakery will leave you craving more!
To finish the short trip, I stopped by at Black Smith Bakery. This and Saba Cafe is one of my favorite bakery in Fort Langley. I was craving for something chocolate so I ordered a Chocolate Cake. It has 4 layers: chocolate cake, caramel and chocolate mousse and ganache on top. I ate only half of it as I still have another stop before I go home. What a nice day to finish my Fort Langley trip. But it was still early so I decided to go to Krause Berry Farm. It is off season and they are not yet in full operation but it was only 18 minutes away so why not check what they have.

A Little FREE Shopping
I was one of the early bird who got lucky to get a 50CAD shopping allowance at the pop-up market going on in the Fort Langley Community Hall. There were few vendors who participated in the event from plants, accessories, food, textiles and more!

The 50CAD can be spend for any of the vendors. My initial thought was to use it to buy plants but I changed my mind as the price as almost double the price I could get it from my area. What I found to be a great use and a really good buy is the iMade dtalls that sells balsamic vinegraittes and glaze. I love these kind of condiments as I used them a lot for salads and fish. I used all my 50CAD to buy variety of them. Here are what I bought. I cannot be more thankful for this gift 🙂 Cannot wait to use these for food creations!

Quick STop @Krause Berry Winery & Estate Farm
Nestled in the heart of Langley, Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery is a beloved destination for farm-fresh delights, family fun, and countryside charm. Whether you’re craving fresh berries, handcrafted pies, or award-winning wines, this farm offers an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

From U-pick berry fields to a bustling market and bakery, Krause Berry Farms is a paradise for food lovers. Their famous berry custard pies and fresh hot waffles are must-tries, while the Estate Winery serves up locally crafted fruit wines perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

Beyond the food, the farm features seasonal events, tractor rides, and a family-friendly play area, making it an ideal spot for a weekend getaway. Whether you’re exploring the fields or indulging in farm-to-table treats, Krause Berry Farms is a delightful escape that captures the essence of BC’s agricultural beauty!
I got there at around 2:30PM, lots of time e fire they close at 5. The only open area were the bakery shop where you can buy ice cream, frozen pie, frozen fruits, freshly baked pastries and kitchen tools. The Wine area was also open and so far was the only one where you can order freshly cooked waffle and few other snacking items. Of course, they have the 🍷 wine too.

I ordered Blueberry Waffle with Coconut Whipped Cream. The waffle was so soft and delicious, the Blueberry sauce was generously poured on top and a huge doll-up of coconut whipped cream on top. It cost about 15CAD.

This was my last stop for the day. I went to Garry Point Park but it was too crowded so I decided just to go home and call it a day.
That’s it for this post 🙂 I hope you enjoyed the virtual trip. Until my next adventure! Byeee 🙂
